Software Full-time New

Senior Full Stack Platform Engineer
Cloud & AI Integration

Melbourne (HQ) / Sydney / Remote Australia Senior Full-time

About Us

We are a fast-growing startup building a highly scalable cloud platform designed to automate inspection and surveying across heavy industries. Our systems ingest and analyze massive, complex datasets—from point clouds and high-resolution images to tabular data—to deliver automated defect detection, component classification, and critical analytics. We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to help us scale our core platform and seamlessly integrate our advanced AI processing capabilities.

The Role

We are seeking a versatile Full Stack Engineer with strong architectural instincts. You will be instrumental in scaling our user-facing applications, robust backend services, and the high-throughput data pipelines that power our analytics. You will tackle the challenges of moving, storing, and processing heavy, multi-modal data efficiently, bridging the gap between our cloud infrastructure and our specialized AI microservices.

What You Will Do

  • Platform Development: Architect and build scalable, production-ready full-stack applications to serve industrial enterprise clients.
  • Data Pipeline Architecture: Design and optimize asynchronous, high-throughput systems to process heavy data payloads efficiently in the cloud.
  • AI/ML Integration: Build the infrastructure that connects our core web platforms with specialized backend AI processing services (including Computer Vision, LLMs, and classical analytics).
  • Cloud Infrastructure: Leverage cloud services to manage complex storage needs, message brokering, and scalable worker architectures.
  • Performance Optimization: Ensure the platform remains highly responsive and cost-effective while handling intensive analytical workloads and large-scale data visualization.

What We Are Looking For

  • Full Stack Expertise: Deep experience building scalable web applications within modern JavaScript/TypeScript ecosystems (e.g., Node.js, Express, Next.js, React, or similar frameworks).
  • Cloud & Systems Architecture: Proven track record designing asynchronous, event-driven, or queue-based worker systems using major cloud providers (Azure, AWS, or GCP).
  • Database Mastery: Strong schema design and optimization skills using relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, etc.) for complex analytical and spatial workloads.
  • Industrial/Heavy Data Experience: Experience building platforms that handle complex, heavy data structures (such as spatial data, 3D point clouds, sensor outputs, or large-scale imagery).
  • AI Integration Familiarity: Practical experience wrapping, deploying, or integrating Python-based machine learning models, computer vision APIs, or LLMs into production web environments.
  • Problem Solver: You thrive in a startup environment, enjoy taking end-to-end ownership of complex features, and can balance rapid iteration with scalable system design.

Where You’ll Work

Our head office is in Melbourne and we have a second office in Sydney. We are open to flexible and remote working arrangements anywhere in Australia for the right person, so where you are based should not stop you from applying.

You are welcome to work from either office if you would prefer to, and we will get you out to site from time to time so you can see the systems your work supports running in the field.
